Dogs on Holiday

How to enjoy your stay with your dog at Orwell View Barns

We welcome one well behaved dog, by arrangement, at a small extra charge to cover additional cleaning. Guide dogs are welcomed free of charge.

The farm is rich in wildlife particularly hares. Other doggy distractions include game birds, geese, sheep, ponies and cattle. You may meet riders as well as other dog walkers. Gardens are fenced but not designed to be dog proof.

We can provide the following. Please ask at time of booking:

" Dog towels and blankets
" A small dog crate
" Pooh bags
" Dog bowls
" Dog toys
A dog kennel.

We have a few simple rules here to make holidays with your dog an enjoyable experience for us, you, and for your neighbours in other cottages. Please remember that some children who are not used to dogs can be nervous of them.

Where you can walk your dog

Look in your information folder for a walking map, which will help you to find all footpaths on which you can walk your dog. In the farmyard you and your dog can walk on the lead in all areas. Please dont bring your dog up the hill towards our house, as our friendly spaniels think they own the place!

Do take your dog out onto the grassy paddock in front of the river and if you trust your dog, do give him/her the freedom to roam off the lead. Please remember that besides being a haven for wildlife there are also shoots here in the winter so dogs need to be kept reasonably under control
.
What to do with dog poo

There are dog poo bags in your cottage but if you forget to take one with you on your walk then you will have to resort to thestick and flick method if the need arises! Please do take your bagged waste to the bin area and place in the black bin. Or it can decompose in the hedgerow (without its bag).
