Spaniel in cornfieldButterfly cottage, Orwell View Barns at Hill House Farm is located at the end of a 1.3 mile lane looking out across the river Orwell. The commercial part of the farm is no longer located at this farm thus ensuring a safe and quiet environment. It is 2.5 miles from Shotley village and 20 - 25 minutes by car to Ipswich town centre. There is a bus stop at the top of the lane (1.3 miles) from where you can catch a bus to neighbouring villages and Ipswich. The Butt and Oyster pub at Pin Mill is 1 hour's walk and the Shipwreck Pub at Shotley Marina is a 45 minute brisk walk along the river bank in opposite directions.

What do the barges do after the big racing match is over? The majority have to go back to work to earn their keep. This is through chartering to the general public, clubs & associations or corporate organizations. This can involve river trips for bird watching, photography, painting, wildlife observation, team building or a family holiday. Bookings can be for a day, a weekend or longer.
